Edward J. Lovett was born July 2, 1923 in Russellville, Alabama, but lived most of his life in Maury County. He was the son of the late David Monroe Lovett and Sadie Frances Kimbrough Lovett. Ed was first married to the late Virginia Swan Lovett and later to the late Alice Colvett Lovett. He had farmed most of his life and had during his "off-time" worked as a brick layer's and stone mason's helper.
Ed's family shared that he loved playing music on his guitar and harmonica. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards. He cherished the times spent watching his grandchildren playing ball. One of his favorite pastimes was "driving around" and you never knew where he would turn up. He enjoyed driving to the golf course and watching his son, grandsons, and great-grandsons play golf. Ed was a member of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ and was very dedicated to the church.
