Edward H. Hannick, age 95, passed away on May 22, 2012 at his son's home in Columbia.
Ed was born to Daniel and Carolyn Hannick in Scranton PA. He was the third of 8 children 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Ed moved to Columbia TN to live with his son Edward J. Hannick after his wife Ann passed away in Feb. of 2006. Ed worked in the grocery industry for 37 years in PA and CA before retiring in 1983 and moving to Yerington NV with his wife Ann eventually to Carson City NV in 1989 where they resided until Ann's passing away in 2006. During the depression Ed moved his mother and two younger sisters to California to be with his father and his brothers. He got a job at the Lockheed plant in Burbank California until he joined the US Navy during World War 2 and served for 3 years. During those years he was stationed at the Navel Brig Camp Shoemaker in Northern California where he worked in the administration office keeping the personal record books of the prisoners who were who were incarcerated there.
He is presided in death by his parents James Daniel and Caroline Hannick, as well as his brothers James, Frank, and Daniel, and his loving wife Ann and daughter Ann Marie Szeredy. He is survived by his son Edward J. Hannick of Columbia, his brothers Paul and Jack, sisters Caroline Miller and Jean Marie Grudin, his son in law James Szeredy Sr., Grand children: Christine Margocs, and James Szeredy Jr. Great Grand Children: Gabrielle Margoes, Mason Margocs, and Stazya Ann Szeredy. His brother in law and sister in law John and Edwina Walsh of Columbia TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service at St. Catherine's will be held Wednesday May 30, 2012, at 10 am with an inurnment at Polk Memorial Gardens to follow. Williams Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at
