Edna Ruth Childrey, age 76, resident of Highland Avenue, passed away on Friday evening, June 15, 2012, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Edna was born October 12, 1935 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late William Henry Stanfill and Bertha Pearl Adams Stanfill. She was the wife of the late Thomas Charles Childrey II. Edna had worked at several jobs throughout her lifetime, including Wal-Mart and in various grocery and retail stores.
Survivors include her two children, Thomas Claude Childrey III of Fayetteville and Carol Gagneur of Columbia; three grandsons, Jeffrey W. Childrey, Rodney Allen Dewire and Justin Lee Gagneur, all of Columbia along with one great-grandchild. Edna was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Wayne Childrey and one brother, William Stanfill.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with their arrangements.
