It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Pearl Coyle Goodman, who peacefully left us on February 24, 2025, at The Bridge in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 93. Born on November 20, 1931, in Bath County, Kentucky, she was the youngest daughter of Willie and Annie Stone Coyle.
Edna found her greatest joys in her beautiful garden, which she lovingly tended, and in the company of her two dachshunds, Willie and Annie, who were never far from her side. Her yard was a testament to her nurturing spirit, filled with flowers and plants she cared for with great love. She also enjoyed line dancing, where she found both fun and connection with friends.
Edna spent nearly 20 years as a bus driver for Hickman County Schools, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of countless children with her kindness and warm smile.
A lifelong member of the Baptist Church, Edna’s faith was a steady source of strength and guidance throughout her life. She loved to sing in the church choir, where her joyful voice filled the hearts of others.
She was lovingly preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Goodman, as well as her brothers, Avery Coyle and Henry Coyle, and her sisters, Mary Margaret Coyle Manley and Lucille Coyle Williams.
Edna is survived by her daughters: Connie Barrett (Dean), Tracey Stewart (Terry), Penny Manley, and her son: Paul Manley (Karen). She also leaves behind granddaughters Jennifer Brewer and Eva Conley, and great-grandchildren Jackson, Annabelle, and Jimmie. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A service for Edna will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Polk Memorial Gardens.
