Edna Marie Dennis Eley

Edna Marie Dennis Eley, age 92, longtime resident of 5th Avenue, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Edna was born on January 28, 1923 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Clyde Dennis and Winnie Whitehead Dennis. Edna married Leslie Eley on January 31, 1942. The two were married for 62 years until his passing in December of 2004. Edna loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed to cook and sharing meals with her family. She was a member of Northview Church of Christ.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Hardison officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Edna is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Dan) Jaynes of Columbia, Tennessee; daughter-in-law Betty Eley of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren Ross (Sommar) Jaynes of Columbia, Tennessee, Elaine (Keith) Jaynes Stotler of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Ronda Eley of Columbia, Tennessee; sister Nora (Braden) Adgent of Burbank, Illinois and Ann Still of Franklin, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Eley, son Ronald Eley, and sister Marguerite Moore.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Merritt, JT Whitehead, and the Elders and Deacons of North View Church of Christ.
