Edna Bell Duncan

June 25, 1954 — June 23, 2024

Lawrenceburg

Edna Bell Duncan earned her angel wings on June 23, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on June 25, 1954, to the late James Elmer Duncan and Martha Jeffers Duncan, Edna lived a life rich in love, culture, and vibrant spirit.

As a member of the Bear Clan, Edna embraced her Cherokee heritage with deep respect and passion. Adopting her Cherokee name "Dancing Cloud". Dancing Cloud was a fitting name for Edna, reflecting her grace and the joy she found in the simple beauty of life.

Edna had a unique appreciation for the beauty of flowers, finding delight in their presence wherever she went. Her favorite yellow finches seemed to visit her just when she needed a touch of nature. A true collector at heart, Edna loved thrift shopping, always on the lookout for new trinkets to adorn her home. Her cherished collection of baby dolls was a testament to her playful and nurturing spirit.

Known for her fiery spirit and love of debate, Edna was a formidable conversationalist who rarely lost an argument. Her favorite colors—red, white, and blue— which she displayed with honor and joy.

Edna's greatest pride and joy were her family. She adored her children: Melissa (Matthew) Olive, Stephanie (Shaun) Lamb, Steven (Vera) Gambrell, Katrina (Chris) Wilson; grandchildren: Felisha, Johnathan, James, Kelby, Stephany, Jason, Devon, Chasidy, Skylor, Joseph, Shalyn, Chance; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Bentley, Maleaha, Jase, Emmilynn, Kylan, Dominic, Killian, Dycen, Ava, Nolan; and great-great-grandchild, Kamari, held a special place in her heart. Edna's love for Jesus was profound and unconditional, and she fervently wished for all her children to join her in heaven. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
