Edgar "Eddie" L. Stewart, Jr.

Mr. Edgar “Eddie” L. Stewart, Jr., age 64, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Eddie was born on December 20, 1951 to Edgar L Stewart, Sr. and Jeraldine Pogue Stewart McCrary. On August 11, 1972 he married Beverly Ann Woodard Stewart and they built a wonderful life together, loving each other through good times and bad. They had a beautiful daughter together and Eddie loved spending time with his family. He loved outdoors, especially when he could spend that time with his grandchildren whom he adored. One of his favorite yearly events was the deep sea fishing trip with his co-workers. For over twenty years he worked as an assistant production manager at Clayton Homes. He took pride in building quality mobile homes for the consumers and would never let them be called “trailers”.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife: Beverly Stewart of Columbia; daughter: Jamie (Brandon Gibson) Stewart of Columbia; grandchildren: Jordan Lovett, Kaitlyn Browning and Colby Browning. In addition to his parents Edgar L. Stewart, Sr. and Jeraldine Pogue Stewart McCrary, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Phyllis Lancaster and Tim Stewart; and many special friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Andy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.

Brandon Gibson, Jordan Lovett, Hodge Cook and Christopher Lancaster and other members of his family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
