Dwight Slick, age 59, a resident of Reece Church Road in Columbia, passed away on Monday, December 28, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Dwight will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Teddy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born on August 24, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, Dwight was the son of Mary Tracy Slick of York Springs, PA and the late Richard L. Slick. He was the husband of Anita Stewart Slick of Columbia. During his high school years, he ran track and was on the basketball team. Dwight was a 22-year employee of Williamson County Ready Mix where he was a dispatcher. His favorite pastimes were fishing and watching tv. He was a member of Hampshire Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include his children: Adrian Brittany Slick of Columbia and Angela fiancé Derrick Dooley Slick of Columbia; one sister: Teresa Phil Solowitz of York Springs, PA; grandchildren: Alexis Paige Slick, Charles Edward Smith, Jr., Jaden Smith, Leyana Dooley and Europe Dooley, all of Columbia, and one nephew: Christopher Famigleta of Chattanooga. Dwight was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Nevaeh Mai Slick; brother-in-law: Larry Stewart and mother-and-father-in-law: Elvie and Herbert Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Slick, Derrick Dooley, Arnold Francis, Franklin Hanvy, John Michael Anderson and Tony McCord. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Williamson County Ready Mix.
