Douglas Wayne "Goofy" Runions

Mr. Douglas Wayne ?Goofy? Runions, 46, a resident of Southport Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral service for Mr. Runions will be conducted Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of Barbara Workman Runions and the late J.D. Runions and husband of Brenda Brawner Runions. He was the owner/operator of Norman?s Body Shop and Tire Center. He enjoyed fishing, rebuilding cars, horses and motorcycles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Dottie Chris Broughton of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Douglas Cain Runions and Christopher Tyler Broughton, both of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Shawn Timmy Woodard and Sandra Runions, both of Mt. Pleasant; a nephew, Brennan Runions of Mt. Pleasant; Several other family members, including special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Marshall, Shorty Fields, James Kittrell, Jr. Roberts, Mayburn Runions, Joe Horne, Randy Workman and Roger Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Norman?s Body Shop and Tire Center, Claims Dept. of Tennessee Farmers Insurance, Justin Robinette, Hunter Robinette, John Mullins and Lanny Hurst.
