Douglas “Louie” Gordon Parker, age 51, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Louie was born October 24, 1962 to Betty Lambert Parker and the late James Parker in Sterling Heights, Michigan. On October 15, 1988 he married Julie Weideman, eventually they would share two children. Louie worked hard and provided for his family as a construction foreman. His wife and children smiled as they were asked to describe Louie stating that he was, “Loving, Generous, Stubborn, Strong and Funny.” He was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia.
In addition to his mother, Betty Lambert, he is survived by his loving wife, Julie Weideman/ Parker of Columbia; beloved children, Daniel Parker and Brittany Parker, both of Columbia; one grandson, Bradley Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Patty “Suey” and Gary Meyer of Michigan, one brother and sister-in-law, John “Huey” and Dawn Parker of Michigan; one uncle, Art Lambert; one aunt, Thelma Ralph; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Louie is preceded in death by his brother, Jim “Dewey” Parker; father, James Parker; and grandparents, Florence and Harry Lambert.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, May 16 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A celebration of his life will also be conducted Saturday, May 17 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Heine officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Cage and Crow INC, Gridiron Dads, Trinity Lutheran Church of Columbia Family, and Boy Scout Family, NJROTC Family and Springhill Manufacturing family.
