Douglas “Doug” Orben Davis, age 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on August 30, 2017.
Douglas was born July 15, 1940 to the late Herman Davis and Evelyn Davis. He was a people person and never met a stranger. He loved being “the candy man” for 35 years. Doug was a long time member of the Sandy Hook Church of Christ; he was a man of prayer who loved his God. He was a man that truly loved his family.
Doug is survived by his wife: Charlotte Davis; Daughter: Diana Himes of Mt. Pleasant; Sons: Tim (Kellie) Davis and Kevin (Alicia) Davis both of Mt. Pleasant. He was survived by his Grandchildren: Ashlyn Fields, Sean Davis, Britney Davis, Cheyenne Davis, Kaylee Davis, Nicholas Davis, Noah Davis, Parker Davis and Willow Davis; Great Grandchildren: Bailee Fields, Brodee Fields, Gracee Fields and Rowan Davis as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman A. Davis and Evelyn Davis as well as one brother and two sisters.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of NHC Columbia for their loving care. They would like to make special mention to Nurses of NHC: Allyson, Maureen, Tracy and Angel. Also, Special Friends: Joseph, Caroline, Teresa and Sarah. Appreciation is also extended to the Staff of Hospice Compassus as well as Dr. Charles Ball and Dr. Chevon Frierson.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
