Mrs. Dorothy Woodard Thomas, 78, a resident of Crestland Drive in Columbia, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at NHC/Columbia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be conducted Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Jimmy Thomas, Tol Burk and Andrew Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Giles County native was the daughter of late Herbert and Zue Green Woodard. She was the wife of Myron Thomas of Columbia. Mrs. Thomas was a retired seamtress at Publix Shirt Factory and a former employee of TKM and Dixie Manufacturing. She was an avid gardner and loved sewing. She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Wayne Patricia Thomas of Estill Springs, TN; a daughter, Linda LarryYeager of Columbia, TN; five grandchildren, Lee Ann TimGarrison and Jennifer MikeRans both of Columbia, TN, Heather Hickman of California, Heath Thomas of Arizona, and Jonathan Yeager of Nashville, TN; six great-grandsons, Tyler Garrison , Thomas Garrison , Will Garrison and Jacob Rans all of Columbia, TN, Nicholas Hickman and Maxwell Hickman both of California; three sisters, Geraldine Martin of Pulaski, TN, Nellie Pinkard of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Annett Love of Lynnville, TN; three brothers, David Woodard and Charles Brenda Woodard both of Lewisburg, TN, Joe Woodard of Lynnville, TN; several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Beverly Martin of Mt. Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Dickey and Frances Oliver.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Kelley, Morris Boshers, Harvey Nicholson, Carl Martin, Lester Crane and Bill Hambek.

Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and their wives of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Dr. Rufus and Margaret Clifford, Bradley and Laurel Dugger, Lee and Joyce Nicholson, Charlie and Sharon Norman, Mary Lyles; the ministers and their wives of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Tol and Dana Burk, Andrew and Julie Roberts.
