Mrs. Dorothy Waldrop Chapman, 78, a resident of Campbellsville Road in Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday September 4 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Chapman will be conducted Friday at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Mike Kinnard officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.
at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Luther and Haughty Matlock Waldrop and the widow of Carl Chapman. She was a retired seamstress from Public Manufacturing. Mrs. Chapman was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters: Patricia O.C. Rushing of Lynnville and Angelia Tom Roberts of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren: Keifer Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Shelly Henderson of Lynnville, Carrie Pollard of Murfreesboro and Natosh Ambrose of Mt. Pleasant; four great-grandchildren, three brothers: Russell Evelyn Waldrop, W. C. Carolyn Waldrop and Jessie Marie Waldrop all of Mt. Pleasant; one sister: Geneva Earl Brown of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a son: Dusty Ambrose.
Pallbearers will be Randy McNeece, Larry Brown, Tony Chapman, Evan Chapman, Troy Lanier and Jeffery Waldrop.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley McNeece and the men of Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
