Dorothy Dean Tucker was born in Maury County on March 30, 1927 to Silas Calvin Green and Rosa Evelyn (Sneed) Green. She passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Dot was the youngest of seven children, Leslie, Rabun, Irene, Willamette, Ruby, and Alton. Dot was first married to Tommie Lee Nichols in 1944. They had two sons, Tommy Santon Nichols and Michael Lee Nichols.
She later married Lonnie Mac Tucker in 1965 and they lived in Summertown for a number of years. Mac preceded her in death in 2010. Dot and Mac loved to camp and spend time with fellow campers. They enjoyed being members of a number of Square Dancing Club in the area. She was a long time member of the Summertown Baptist Church. Dot retired from Tennessee Farm Bureau Headquarters in Columbia, Tennessee.
Dot is survived by her son Michael (Bonnie) Nichols, Sr.; Grandsons, Michael (Stephanie) Nichols Jr., Greg (Dana) Nichols, and Tracy(Jenny) Nichols; Seven great grandchildren; One great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Tommie Nichols, Grandson, Randy Nichols, Granddaughter, Tammy Cornelius, and Great grandson, Kenneth Cornelius.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:00AM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Rev. Howard Kitter. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 2:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Nichols, Jr., Greg Nichols, Tracy Nichols, Alan Psota, Pat Prince, and Bobby Prince.
