Dorothy E. “Dotty” Spears, age 74, resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, at her residence.
Dotty was born June 15, 1941 in Maury County, the daughter of the late W.H. Edwards and Louise “Mama Easy” Sanders Edwards. Dotty went from Kindergarten through Business College and never missed a day. The day following her graduation from business College she began work at Parks Motors and she passed away on her 55th work anniversary. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, friend and employee.
Survivors include her son, Wendell A. (Shirley) Spears of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Lynn Spears of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Lindsay (Rob) Call, Wendell A. “Bubba” Spears, Jr., and Shelby Spears; great-grandchildren, Gracie Spears, Murphy Call and Mac Call; brother, Alfred (Nancy) Edwards, Sr., of Mt. Pleasant; special friend Robert Parks and special cousins, Dorothy Faye Pullen and Jerry Oliver along with numerous other cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Southpoint Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00– 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Grandberry, Thomas Neeley Edwards, Tim Spears, Robert Rogers, Ray Edwards, and Jason Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Burns, Sam Sweeney, Randall Woodard and Bubba Edwards and all employees of Parks Motor Sales.
