Dorothy Pierce Grissom

Mrs. Dorothy Pearl Pierce Grissom, 71 , a resident of North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Life Care Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grissom will be conducted Monday, September 6, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with David Kersey officiating. Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Bud and Deanie Workman Pierce. She was the widow of James Van Grissom. Mrs. Grissom was a former long-time resident Dearborn Heights, Michigan and owner and operator of The Lunch Box restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. She was an avid gardner, loved her children and grandchildren and watching golf on television.

She is survived by her children, Tina James Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Kim Keith Burroughs of Columbia, TN, John Cathy Luke of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Christopher Donna Luke of Ethridge, TN; three sisters, Estelene J.D. Lindsey and Joan Pierce both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Chris Marchincowski of Michigan; her grandchildren, Robert Luke whom she raised of Summertown, TN, Jason Glover, Misti Phillip Grooms, Kelly Danny Evans, April Brown, Brittany Davis, Dane Luke, Jamie Smith, Jada Luke, Ricky Brown, Amber Luke, Riley Luke, Kayla Luke, Koty Luke, Summer Luke and Trey Luke; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Pierce, Hardy Pierce, Jimmy Pierce and Harlan Pierce.

Pallbearers will be Dane Luke, Ricky Brown, Phillip Grooms, Jason Grooms, Butch Pierce, and Breck Boyd.
