Mrs. Dorothy Mathis Nicholson, a long time resident of Hilltop Drive in Columbia, passed away on Monday, September 10, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nicholson will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 5:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Gordonsburg native was the daughter of the late Robert Paul Mathis and Ethel Lee Perry Mathis. She was the wife of the late J.B. ?Nick? Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson graduated from Hay Long High School and Columbia Business College. She had worked part time for Ten Ten Market and previously owned and operated a Kwik Sak Market with her husband. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Nicholson loved to work in her yard and was a history enthusiast.
Survivors include one daughter: Connie Ken Cathey of Columbia; two grandchildren: Nicholas Cathey and Rebecca Cathey both of Columbia; one sister: Doris Gwynn of Columbia, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Brown, Phillip Dean Perry, Tim Nicholson, Mike Mabry, Jim Holland, Larry Nicholson, Tony Nicholson and Larry Drumwright.
