Dorothy Hollis Grooms Paul Kinzer

Mrs. Dorothy Hollis Grooms Paul Kinzer, age 83, passed away April 3, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Born on May 5, 1931, she was the eldest child of Percy and Clethal Hollis. She graduated in 1949 from Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Mrs. Kinzer retired as an administrative assistant from Rhone-Poulence Chemical Company in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee in 1996. Mrs. Kinzer was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was always a faithful contributor to the Disabled Veterans and Wounded Warriors. Mrs. Kinzer married Russell Grooms in 1949 and they had three children. She was married to James A. Paul from 1965 until his death in 1981. In 1983 she married Hubert Kinzer and the shared nine years together until his death in 2004. Mrs. Kinzer enjoyed making quilts for everyone, embroidery, reading, watching movies, watching Brave’s Baseball, and going to yard sales. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one son J.R. (Rusty) Grooms and one step-son John Kinzer.

She is survived by her children David Leslie Grooms of Florence, AL, Pamela Grooms of Hermitage, Tennessee, Tommy and Marsha Kinzer of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren Crystal Grooms Helton (Wayne), Jessica Grooms, Matt Grooms, Leslie Grooms Holmes (Trey), Derrick (Jessica) Kinzer, and Allison Kinzer; great-grandchildren Tristan Fox, Jade Hernandez, Tripp Helton, Lorelei Helton, Desiree Wall, Kai Grooms, Jace, Rory, and Maggie Holmes, and Mikayla and Colton Kinzer; sister Irene Bolton; brothers Bobby Hollis of Huntsville, Alabama, Billy Hollis of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, and Danny Hollis of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law Nellie Kinzer; and brother-in-law Carl Baker.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Bro. Donald Paul and Bro. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Hollis, Jim Bolton, Terry Blade, B.J. Bolton, Colton Kinzer, and Matt Grooms.

Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Mahaffey, Donna Johnson, Jean Johnson, Roy Johnson, Jean Shirley, and Jewel George.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Disabled Veterans and Wounded Warriors.
