Dorothy Gilliam Vaughn

Mrs. Dorothy A. Gilliam Vaughn, age 70, a resident of Snow Creek Road in the Theta Community, passed away Monday, November 15 at NHC/Hillview.
Born April 18, 1940 in Williamson County, daughter of the late Henry and Delsie Ervin Gilliam and wife of the late Clifford Vaughn, whom she dearly loved. She worked for IGA in Columbia and several other stores as a cashier and then became a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed tatting, dancing, loved her cats and working in her yard, cutting grass and her flower garden. She was a member of Theta Church of Christ.
She is survived by son: Robert Margo Andrews of Culleoka; daughters: Deborah Sullivan of Santa Fe and Larraine Morgan of Theta; grandchildren: Shannon Carrie Davis, Steven Andrews, Patrick Alissa Andrews, E.J. Amber Holt, Adam Holt, Joshua Sullivan, Brad Morgan, Ashleah Morgan; great grandchildren: Rebecca, Lane and Marissa Davis, Dominic Andrews, Katilyn and Karly Morgan, Shelby Holt, Sarah Holt-Lunn and Morgan Forshee; sisters: Mae Turner of Westland, MI, Evelyn Andrews of Goodlettsville, Betty Miles Johnson of Spring Hill, Lois Bobby Baker of Nashville, Opal Dan Tucker of Goodlettsville, Shirley Clyde Hill of Burns, TN and Barbara Thomas Coleman of Franklin; brothers: Cecil Cindy Gilliam of Westland, MI, Charles Juanita Gilliam of Burns, TN and Norris Dwain Gilliam of Centerville; step-children: Sharon Jackie Haplin, Ronnie Vaughn, Mike Terri Vaughn, Sandy Nadeem Kahn; step-grandchildren: Jamie Tonya Haplin, Tristan and Tyler Williams, Brandon and Heather Murray, Zachary and Kyle Kahn and Michelle Vaughn; sisters-in-law: Vera Gilliam and Lillie Mae Gilliam; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son: Roger Andrews; grandson: Scott Andrews; step-son: Gary Vaughn; sisters: Doris Gilliam and Mildred Hargrove; brothers: J.B. Gilliam and James "Buster" Gilliam; the father of her children: Benny Andrews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vaughn will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, November 18 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Gilley Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the Warf Cemetery in Primm Springs.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Shannon Davis, Steven Andrews, Patrick Andrews, E.J. Holt, Adam Holt, Joshua Sullivan and Brad Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of NHC/Hillview, staff of Caris Healthcare, Dr. Cummins Couch and staff.
