Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Farris, age 88, a longtime resident of Westover Drive in Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 25, at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Farris will be conducted Wednesday at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Burton Daimwood officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Annie Elizabeth Wells Murphy and the wife of the late James Bernard Farris, to whom she was married to for 63 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Graymere Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons: James Edward Sara Farris of Brentwood, Thomas Murphy Vanessa Farris of Columbia and David Lee Kim Farris of Decatur, AL; grandchildren: Patrick Justine Farris and Jill Farris, both of Orlando, FL, Shannon Bo Baker of Lewisburg, Amanda Bobby Sparkman of Columbia, James Farris and Rachel Farris, both of Brentwood, Alyssa Farris and Alex Farris, both of Decatur, AL; 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers: James Murphy, John Murphy, Harold Murphy and A.E. Murphy; a sister: Gladys Murphy Voss.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Voss, Roscoe Voss, Billy Murphy, Donald Flowers, Alex Farris and James Farris.
