Mrs. Dorothy Crotzer Underwood, 83, of Memphis, formerly of Maury County, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, in Memphis.
Services for Mrs. Underwood will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Underwood was the daughter of the late James Linden Crotzer and Cleo West Crotzer. She was the widow of Samuel "S.W." Underwood. She was a graduate of Hay Long High School and Mrs. Ammison's Business School in Columbia. During World War II she worked for the War Department in Washington DC. Mrs. Underwood was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church is Memphis.
She is survived by two daughters: Janice David Buchanan of Collierville and Suzanne Potts of Columbia; one brother: Charles "Spud" Crotzer of Columbia; five grandchildren: Andrea Buchanan and Grant Buchanan, both of Collierville, Rebecca Potts Brad Burkhead and Trey Potts, both of Memphis and Cameron Potts of Columbia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Crotzer Hickman and a brother: John Crotzer.
Pallbearers will be David Buchanan, Grant Buchanan, Trey Potts, Brad Burkhead, Barry Crotzer and Adam Crotzer.
