Doris Amanda Rowland, 87, passed away on May 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Dover, Ohio on November 30, 1931 to the late William and Goldie Rummell Espenschied. Doris was the business owner of A-OK Septic Service and manager for Forever Living Products. She enjoyed dancing, especially country slow dancing and “boot scootin”. She loved people and her family dearly. She had a love for gardening and growing vegetables and flowers.
She is survived by daughters: Doris (Johnny Ray) Thomason, Sandra (Danny Tuner) Watts, Rhonda (Tommy) Stanfill and Cherry (Paul) Ellis; sons: Roger Rowland, Michael (Terri) Rowland and William (Kelley) Rowland; 19 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bob and Butch Espenschied; sister: Maxine Robinson, Elsie Kutcher, Helen Stewart and Wanda Dills Atkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: John L. Rowland; son: John L. Rowland, Jr. and daughter-in-law: Gayle (Roger) Rowland; brothers: Earl and Raymond Espenschied; sisters: Marie Gano, Mae Smith, Irene Espenschied, and Betty Dorsey.
Family will visit with friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at noon until time of service at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia. Funeral services for Doris will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Howard Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Lonnie Thomason, Jeremy Watts, Johnathan Stanfill, Lee Thomason, Brandon Tuten, Michael B. Rowland, Dustin Carroll, Dallas Watts, Aaron watts and Ryan Prince.
