Doris King Chappell

June 30, 1922 — January 23, 2004

Mrs. Doris Foster King Chappell, 81, a resident of
the Mt Joy Community, died Friday, January 23, 2004, at Hidden Acres Health Care.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chappell will be conducted Monday January 26, 2004 at 11:00 a. m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Reverend Dwight Liles and Jeffrey Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late W.F. and Sally Overstreet Foster. She was first married to R. L. King who died in 1963. She was a former long-time employee of Petty?s Jewelry in Mt. Pleasant. She was a sales lady with Davis Dress Shop in Columbia. She was a member of the Mt Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.


She is survived by two daughters, Shelby David Johnson and Peggy McClain both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a sister, Melba Cheek of Lawrenceburg, TN; a brother, Arnold Foster of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Lisa McClain and Jeff McClain , Leigh Ronnie Frazier all of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Greg Mindi Johnson of Columbia, TN; great-grandchildren, Heather McClain and Jeffrey Frazier both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Brent McClain of Hohenwald, TN, Olivia Johnson of Columbia, TN, Rachel Frazier of Mt. Pleasant, TN and Ainsley Johnson of Columbia, TN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Eugenia Logue, Lela Walker, Bobbie Burns and Christine Lancaster; two brothers, Ernest Foster and Virgil Foster.

Pallbearers will be Greg Johnson, Jeff McClain, Ronnie Frazier, Odell Haywood, Mike Burns, Owen Burns, Mickey Allen and Jimmy Lancaster.
