Doris Ann Escue

March 17, 1943 — February 18, 2013

Doris Ann Escue, age 69, of Columbia, passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center Monday, February 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born March 17, 1943, to the late Paul Bill Bates and Lou Annie McNeil. She was a homemaker and such a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Doris also loved to work with her hands outdoors in the flower gardens. She really had a love for dogs and never turned a stray away. She also was a fan of Nascar, especially Jeff Gordon.

Her survivors include: One daughter, Kandi (Andrew) Hardison of Columbia; One granddaughter, Kayla Hardison of Columbia; One sister, Betty Holder of Mt. Pleasant; One brother, Billy Bates; One sister-in-law, Nell Smith; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by: Her husband, Marvin Escue; Three sisters; Juanita Gibson, Vivian Searson, and Mary Lee Love; and her brother, Buford Leslie Bates.

Funeral services for Doris Ann Escue are Friday, February 22, 2013, at 2:00PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Ezell Rose officiating. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 21, from 5:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Morton, Timothy Davis, Drew Childress, Ray Adamson, Vance Capley, Dan Shires, Jimmy Childress, and Terry Holder.
