Donnie T. Gibson

Mr. Donnie "Gip" Gibson, age 58, a resident of Beechcroft Road in Spring Hill, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, October 6, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Gibson will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jason Kizer officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of J.C. Gibson and the late Marie Hickman Gibson. He was an auto mechanic for 35 years and he last worked for Cameron Motor's in Franklin. Donnie started racing drag strips at age 16, followed by dirt track racing. He loved working on cars and riding his Harley, but nothing beat the love he had for his children which came first. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his children: Donna Jackie Berryhill, Cody Gibson, Destiny Adams and Austin Gibson, all of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Damion and Courtney Berryhill, both of Spring Hill; a brother: Ronnie Kathy Gibson of Spring Hill.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Sands, R.B. Sands, Doug Warren, Johnny Reese, Jackie Berryhill and Robert Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be William Reese and Dale Tomlin.
All motorcycle riders are welcome to participate in Donnie's service.
