Donald Wayne Hester

Mr. Donald Wayne "Donnie" Hester, age 47, resident of Columbia, passed away on January 3, 2009.
Funeral services for Mr. Hester will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Sister Sharon Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Army.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Owensboro, KY, native was the son of the late Edna Stanton Hester and Donald William Hester of Walsh, IL. He was the husband of Kimberly Walters Hester of Columbia. Donnie was a corrections officer for the Maury County Sheriff's Department before becoming disabled. He was a member of the Columbia Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors in addition to his wife and father include his children: Kimberly Nicole Hester of Gallatin and Marcus John Hester of Columbia; two step-daughters: Kasey Jo Risch of Columbia and Lauren Elizabeth Risch of Marion, OH; two nieces Chassity Leggans of Columbia and Shayla Walters of Marion, OH and a nephew: Sean Michael Dyke of Sparta, IL; sisters: Margaret Dyke of Sparta, IL, Sandra Perrigan of Marion, IL, Suzy McRoy of Marion, IL, Christie Boucher of Murfreesboro, IL and brothers: Allen Hester of Elk Grove, IL, Kevin Kafka of OK, Joey Allen of FL and Brian Hester of AL. He is also survived by the mother of Kimberly Nicole, Frances Hester of Gallatin and his best friend, Trooper Luis Eastman Sweeney.
Pallbearers will be Luis Sweeney, Stephen Wix, Kevin Wix , Allen Hester and Michael Wix.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Donald Hester account at First Community Credit Union, 5021 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.
