Donald G. Morrison

Mr. Donald G. Morrison, 77, a resident of North High Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home.

Graveside services for Mr. Morrison will be conducted Friday, December 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Jonathan Jones, II officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Ronald Stuart and Genevieve Brownlow Morrison and was the husband of Mary Dale Norman Morrison. He was retired superintendent of the Maury County Rabies Control and was affiliated with Hooker Chemical Company for 17 years. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed on board the William C. Miller DE259 destroyer escort which transported submarine detection equipment and was present for the peace treaty signing at Tokyo Bay. He attended the Macedonia Church of Christ.

He is survived by three daughters, Marti Jonathan Jones of Hampshire, TN, Liz Mike Whitwell and Susan Catlin both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two step-sons, Barry JoyceCrotzer and Adam Renee Crotzer both of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan Jones II of Spring Hill, TN, Brett Jones, Jill Jones and Bart Jones all of Hampshire, TN, Lee Whitwell, Matthew Whitwell, Ryan Jessica Davis, and Mitchell Catlin all of Mt. Pleasant, TN; three step grandchildren, Chris McClain, Jenna Crotzer, and Cassidi Jones; great-granchildren, Taittumn Davis and Justin Davis both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two step great grandchildren, Jordan McClain and Brittany McClain; two sisters, Sue William Dunnebacke of Columbia, TN and Pat William Casey of Ballwin, MO.
