Mr. Donald Elton Stanton, age 96, a resident of Morning Pointe in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, March 24 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
The family has not scheduled services at the present time.
Williams Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
Born November 11, 1912 in Irondequoit, NY, Mr. Stanton was the son of the late William and June Cole Stanton and the husband of Eleanor Semmler Stanton. Mr. Stanton was a farmer, a machinist and was an avid golfer. He was formerly a member of the United Church of Marion, NY.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter: Ellen Stanton John Kooman of Lewisburg; granddaughters: Lisa Kenny Hayes of Seymour, TN and Leslie Hassan Fawaz of Knoxville, TN; great granddaughters: Lindsey Hayes, Evie Hayes, Lily Fawaz and Julia Fawaz; a sister: Ruth Semmler of Fairport, NY; brothers: Verne Stanton of Trenton, FL and William Stanton of Sodus, NY.
The family has chosen cremation and request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Marshall Memorial Public Library, 310 Farmington Pike, Lewisburg, TN 37091.
