Mrs. Dona Hill Bender, 58, a resident of Donra Way Drive in Columbia, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Williamson Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bender will be conducted Tuesday January 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Andrew Mayton officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Atlanta, GA native was the daughter of Blanche Wallace Hill and the late Richard Hill and the widow of Burriss ?Skip? Melton Bender, Jr. She received her Bachelors Degree of Education from Middle Tennessee State University and also attended Columbia State Community College. She taught Special Education at Kings Daughters School in Columbia, TN, Benton Hall in Franklin, TN and Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, TN. She was a member of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Bender of Columbia, TN, Kenneth Maria Bender of Westcliffe, CO and Keith Lori Bender of Spring Hill, TN; one grandson, Matthew Bender of Spring Hill, TN; four sisters, Ethel Copper of Cleveland, TN, Priscilla Stutts of Franklin, TN, Patricia Cook of Columbia, IL and Nancy Styers of Franklin, TN; ?special friend?, Fred Sacksteder of Columbia, TN; ?special pets? , eight horses, five cats and five dogs;
Pallbearers will be members of the family and friends.
Memorial may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association
