Dolores "Nookie" Vandygriff

Dolores “Nookie” Vandygriff, age 89, passed away on June 15, 2019 surrounded by family.
Dolores was born in Maury County on April 20, 1930 to the late Edward F. and Katie Henson Dwyer. She worked in Tennessee Knitting Mills in Columbia and manufacturing plants in Mt Pleasant, Tennessee over the years. She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved taking care of her of flowers, going to the beach and fishing with her family.
She is survived by daughter: Brenda (Milton) Patterson of Williamsport, Tennessee; sons: Delta Vandygriff of Mt Pleasant, Tennessee, Randall Vandygriff of Hohenwald, Tennessee and Larry (Connie) Vandygriff of Mt Pleasant, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 11 great great-grandchildren and nephew: John (Bonnie) Chadwell of Columbia, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and great-grandson: Cameron Green.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Service will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Jason Patterson, Brandon Patterson, Bubba Vandygriff, Wendell Vandygriff, Brian Vandygriff, Kenny Vandygriff, Rodney Vandygriff and David Vandygriff.
Special thanks to granddaughter, Tammy Green (Sissy), who took loving care of her from the beginning of her illness to the end. Also, special thanks to the staff of Poplar Estates and Hospice Compassus for all they did for her.
