Diana Barnett

February 24, 1966 — July 11, 2024

Columbia

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Barnett, age 58, who departed this world on July 11, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Diana was the cherished daughter of the late Fannie Lou Carnell and one of four children in her close-knit family.

Diana was a devoted mother to her only son, Donald Boyd, whom she lovingly called Donnie. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in their company, especially with her beloved furry companion, Lucky. Known for her reserved nature, Diana nonetheless radiated a bright warmth that touched everyone who knew her.

Her days were often filled with the drama and romance of her favorite soap operas like "Days of Our Lives" and the heartwarming stories of Hallmark and Lifetime movies. For a touch of excitement, she turned to "Law & Order" and "NCIS." When she wasn't absorbed in her favorite shows, Diana enjoyed engaging in spirited games of Candy Crush, always ready for the next level of challenge.

Diana's favorite color was purple, a hue that matched her vibrant spirit. She loved to indulge in her favorite sweets, including Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfaits, milkshakes, and a variety of bakery desserts, always savoring these delightful treats.

Diana's memory will be cherished by her loving son, Donnie (Amber) Boyd; her sister: Betty (David) Yates; her niece: April (Mark) Brown; her great-nephew: Brandon Brown; and her great-nieces, Kamryn, Madisyn, and Aubree Brown. She is also survived by numerous extended family members who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Boyd Sr.; her second husband, Chris Barnett; and her brother, William "Willie" Hargett.

Diana's legacy of love, warmth, and the quiet strength she embodied will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
