Mr. Dewey A. Workman, age 72, resident of the Campbellsville Community of Giles County, passed away on Saturday, may 14, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on December 31, 1938 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Arnold Eugene and Mary Frances Cummins Workman. Dewey was married for 47 years to Joyce Holt Workman of the Campbellsville Community. He was a veterean having served in the Army. Dewey was retired from Maury Ohio Inc. of Lawrenceburg and was of the Church of Christ faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Dennis Hagood of the Campbellsville Community; a sister, Laura June Attkisson of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Johnathon Blake Hagood of the Campbellsville Community; a niece, Michelle Renee O'guinn of Bon Aqua; and great-niece and nephew, Kayla and Carter O'guinn both of Bon Aqua.
Funeral services for Mr. Workman will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Randy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by the United States Army.
The Workman Family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Raymond Workman, Billy Kennedy, David Workman, Tim Estes, Bill Workman, Ralph Barr and Fred Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Hagood and John Hagood.
