Derek Thomas Peck, born November 10, 1990, went to be with Jesus, his Lord, and Savior, on June 13, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Devan Peck, children Talayeh Peck and Remington Peck, parents Thomas and Rebecca Peck, brothers Logan (Lexi) Peck and Ethan Peck, sister Rachel Peck, maternal Grandparents Calvin and Evelyn Critcher, paternal grandparents, Norm and Carolyn Peck, three nephews Calvin, Edison, and Warren Peck, numerous dear aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also blessed with loving in-laws.
Derek grew up in Columbia, TN, and married the love of his life, Devan, on May 25, 2013. He was most recently site manager at historic Lanier Mansion in Madison, Indiana, and was previously employed at other key historic sites. He passionately studied the Bible and loved theology. He was a respected historian, especially in all things pertaining to the American Civil War, and was an excellent public speaker, known for his creative historical presentations, lectures, and in-depth battlefield tours. He was diligent in teaching his children daily from the Bible and generously supported gospel mission work. He was loved dearly by his wife, children, family, and friends.
Visitation and a Service of Hope are scheduled for Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021, at historic Zion Church 2322 Zion Rd., Columbia, TN. visitation hours are 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M., with the service, immediately following at 2:00 P.M. There will be a private graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Marion, Jonathan Critcher, Zach Critcher, Logan Peck, John Tobin, and Brandon Hilderbrand.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Ethan Peck.
