Derek L. Miller, 18, a resident of Davis Drive in Columbia, died Monday, March 21, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Derek will be conducted Friday, March 25, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Reverend Benny Miller and Reverend Robert Matthew officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Pontiac Michigan native was the son of Donnie L. Miller and Carol Young Bashista. He was a 2004 graduate of Central High School. He was a former employee of the Sonic. He loved motorcycles, cars and had a fun loving spirit. Lil?D enjoyed being with his friends and will be greatly missed by his family and friends
In addition to his parents he is survived by three brothers, Damon ODneal, Derrick ODneal and Donta Miller all of Pontiac, MI; a sister, Latonya Pernell of Columbus, OH; grandmother, Rosemary Young of Garden City, MI; uncles and aunts, Vic and Janet Valliere of New China, MI, John and Mary Jones , Rick and Sally Kochonski both of Garden City, MI, John and Cheryl Cochran of Indiana; Bill Young of Garden City, Michigan; grandmother, Maxine Miller of Dermont, AR; uncles and aunts, Rev. Robert and Georgia Matthew of Memphis, TN; John and Jean Miller of Ft. Worth, IN, Reverend Benny and Sharnin Miller of Rochester Hills, MI, Judy Miller, Janice Miller, Andrew and Cherry Rose all of Pontiac, MI, JoAnn Miller of Little Rock, AR, Greg Miller, Bruce and Jackie Miller, Joe and Brenda Scott, and Earl Miller all of Pontiac, MI, Vinny Miller, Shonda Miller, and Sheila Miller all of Houston, TX.
Pallbearers will be Nick Thompson, Alex Beech, Seth Thompson, Anthony Gray, Donta Wintrey, Ken Porter, Thomas Jones and Quin Porter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Norman and Steven Davis.
