Mr. Dennis W. Ferrara, Sr., 59, a resident of Osborne Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Ferrara will be conducted Friday evening, July 19, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend A. Richard Smith officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
The Cleveland, Ohio native was the son of William Ferrara of North Royalton, Ohio and the late Margaret Romig Ferrara. He was the husband of Leyona "Lee" Vassilo Ferrara of Columbia, Tennessee. He was a graduate of John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio and received his A.S. from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was with GM for 39 years, retiring as Quality Control Engineer for the Saturn Corporation. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife and father he is survived by a daughter, Shannon Ferrara of Coumbia, TN; 3 sons, Dennis William Terese Ferrara, Jr. of San Jose, CA, Christopher A. Ferrara of Murfreesboro, TN, and Marcus Ferrara of Columbia, TN; a sister, Debbie Baylog of Parma, OH; 2 granddaughters, Kaela Ferrara and Lauren Ferrara of San Jose, CA; a niece and nephew, Cortney and Shane Curtis of Parma, OH. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
