Dennis was born on June 18, 1932 to the late Herbert and Beatrice Lewis in Hamilton, Ohio.
Dennis was a skilled musician. Any instrument he picked up he excelled at, especially the bass guitar. He channeled this skill into making music with his father and traveled many places to play country western and played for the Radio Ramblers. While playing in the music group with his father, he met his wife and the love of his life, Marjorie Frost. They later went on to marry on July 14, 1951, and then raised 4 wonderful children together.
After his music, he was called to the church. He was first a music director for churches before entering the pulpit. He started preaching in 1953. He then went on to study at Berea College in Kentucky and got his Bachelor’s of Philosophy in 1965. He then went to Andover Newton Theological School and Trinity Theological Seminary where he received his Master’s. Dennis was also a moderator of the Miami Valley Association of Ohio and the Maury County Association of Tennessee. He worked at Evangelist Churches in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and New Hampshire. He also organized several missions for Baptist Churches.
Later down the line, Dennis went on to make gospel music with his family and they would be known as the Reflections, producing a few albums together. Dennis also worked at Fisher Body, Mosler Safe, and Champion Paper Company in Hamilton, Ohio. He also worked for Columbia Machine works for a time as well.
