Delores Jean Doty

July 26, 1944 — January 1, 2025

Madison, AL

It is with heartfelt love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved mother and Nana, Delores Jean (Stanfill) Doty, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2025. She was 80 years old.

A woman of unwavering faith, Jean was a guiding light for all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, devotion, and prayer. Throughout her life, she never wavered in her commitment to God, her family, and her friends. Her belief in the Lord provided her with the strength to overcome every challenge and the wisdom to guide those around her with grace and compassion.

Jean's family was the center of her life. She poured love and care into her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, every member of her extended family, and her friends. Her home was always open, her heart always warm, and her love unconditional. She dedicated herself fully to nurturing her loved ones, ensuring that they felt safe, valued, and supported no matter the circumstances.

Jean was a graceful woman, always finding ways to make those around her feel cherished and important. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled in her family, the lessons she taught through example, and the deep love she shared with each of us.

Her faith and dedication to her family were matched only by her kindness and compassion for others. She touched countless lives with her quiet strength, wisdom, and generosity. Jean leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and deep faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Born on July 26, 1944, in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of James Edward and Alberta (Lykins) Stanfill, her family moved to Hamilton, Ohio, when she was a young child. There, she met and eventually married the love of her life, David Doty, on May 24, 1961. David preceded her in death on March 6, 2013. She is survived by her adoring children, Deanna (Jamie) Powell, Eric (Kay) Doty, and Dan (Katrina) Doty. Her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life and with whom she enjoyed many precious times together, Alana (Cory) Jacobs, Evan (Melyssa) Powell, Lauren (Seojin) Kang, Braden Doty, Will Doty, Sam Doty, Nathan Doty, Erica Newkirk, and Ian Doty, and seven great grandchildren who loved their Nana dearly, Jovie, Deacon, and Nash Kang, Sapphire and Kingsley Jacobs, and Isla and Everett Powell. Jean is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janette Stanfill, and her brother-in-law, Mark Doty. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alberta Stanfill, her beloved husband, David, and her brothers, Wally Stanfill and EJ Stanfill.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home, 2517 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN, 38401, to celebrate Jean’s life, her faith, and the enduring love she gave to all who knew her.
