Delmas “Dale” Parr, age 85, of Pulaski, Tennessee passed away on April 29, 2018 at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama with his loving family by his side.
Dale was born on December 19, 1932 in Pulaski, Tennessee to the late Marvin and Thelma Parr. Dale married Loyce Parr on June 29, 1979. He was a loving and wonderful father; he taught his son, Chris, many things including how to be happy through good and through bad, how to hunt, fish, work on cars and most of all repair lawnmowers. Dale served in the Army, in the Korean War. He later worked at Union Carbide as an electrician. He was a member of the Church of Christ Faith and attended Gardendale Church of Christ in Gardendale Alabama.
Dale is survived by his wife: Loyce Parr; son: Chris (Christy) Parr; stepson: Rick (Camille) Munkus; stepdaughter: Cindy (Tony) Fassinger; grandchildren: Ember Parr, Austin Parr, Ella Parr, Brantley Parr and Kelley Munkus Sanders and great grandchildren: Aiden Parr and Hallie Sanders. In addition to his parents Dale was preceded in death by his brothers: Talmege and William Parr; sisters: Virginia Matlock and Lily Mae Potts and grandson: Will Munkus.
The Parr family will visit with friends on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from Noon until 2:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A Service will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Taylor Pickett officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Herbert Griffin Post 19.
Pallbearers are family members and friends of the Parr family.
