Debra Yvonne Smith, resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on May 22, 2024 from an extended illness. She was born on January 10, 1964 to the late Bobby Joe Smith, Sr and the late Ella Mae Campbell. She was the second oldest of 4 children.
Debra was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She was a graduate of Columbia State Community College where she received her Associate of Science Degree. She was also a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree.
Debra was a longtime employee of Maury Regional Medical Center where she worked as a Medical Technologist. She later began employment at The Tennessee Department of Health, where she worked as a Microbiologist up until her health failed.
Among her many passions, she was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. She really loved making her Christmas favorite, which were rum cakes. Debra found joy in the companionship of her fur babies. She really loved her brother, sister, nieces, and nephews.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Railroad Street Original Church of God Mt. Pleasant and later began fellowship with 40th Ave Original Church of God in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is survived by her brother Bobby Joe Smith, Jr, sister Cheryl Smith Webster, and preceded in death by her sister Wanda Jean Smith McGloffin. She leaves behind four nieces: Candis (Kenneth) Sales, Rachel Smith, Sharita (David) Frazier, and Maria Smith; Two nephews: Bobby D. Smith and Curtis Southall; Four great nieces, Five great nephews, Five aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends. Three very devoted friends: Tonia Church, Jonathan England, and Sam Fitzgerald.
