Deanna Jaggers, a beloved wife, mother, and granny, passed away on July 13, 2024, at her home. Born in Columbia, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Clayton and Martha Thurman.
Deanna was a dedicated Christian woman and a longtime member of Hampshire Community Church. She found joy in her family and her gardens. As an avid gardener, she tended to both vegetable and flower gardens, with a special fondness for zinnias. But the most joy in her life came from her love and service for her Lord Jesus Christ.
She married the love of her life, Rock Jaggers, on Valentine’s Day in 1981. Together, for 43 years they built a loving home and raised two daughters, Jennifer and Casey, whom she adored. Deanna's heart was full of love for her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent playing with them and cooking for her family.
Deanna retired from Mount Pleasant Elementary School, where she worked as an Attendance Clerk. She also contributed to the Family Resource Center, demonstrating her commitment to her community.
Deanna is reunited in heaven with her parents, her mother-in-law Doris Jaggers, and several beloved aunts and uncles.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Rock Jaggers; daughters Jennifer (Clay) Gilliam and Casey (Lee) Sensat; grandchildren Codell Gilliam, Carter Gilliam, Brooklyn Gilliam, Willow Sensat, Sutton Sensat, Autumn (Caleb) Smith, and Addison Sensat; siblings Ronnie (Vera) Thurman and Kathy Henson; father-in-law: W.M. Jaggers, Jr; brother-in-law: Johnny (Dottie) Jaggers; sister-in-law: Julie (Scott) Brierley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Deanna’s life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Hampshire Community Church, with Larry Brown and Nick Ray officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Deanna will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery in Hampshire, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Codell Gilliam, Carter Gilliam, George Gilliam, Ronnie Hinson, Kenny Cecil, and Kevin Golden,
Deanna’s humble, loving spirit and her legacy of faith and family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
