Mr. David Lamar "Red" Goad, 49, a resident of Brown Hollow Road in Columbia, died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at St. Thomas Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Goad will be conducted Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Lauderdale County, Alabama native was the son of Lambert Lamar and Knoxie Stutts Goad of Columbia. He was husband of Patsy Beard Goad of Columbia. He was a superintendent for Columbia Construction Company and attended the Fairview Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a stepson, Brian Justin Lauren Maxwell of Hampshire; two brothers, Donald J. Betty Goad of Culleoka and Daniel P. Diana Goad of Columbia; mother-in-law, Delvene Beard of Santa Fe; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clarence and Sally Goad; maternal grandparents, Haywood and Evelyn Stutts.
Pallbearers will be Bill Yancey, John Russell, Walter Wilkerson, David Lee Stutts, Eddie Birdwell, William Earl "Pete" Goad, Bobby Joe Rhodes, and Rodney Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Columbia Construction, employees of Rhodia, Inc., and the Professional Bass Fisherman Association.
