David G. Sears

January 3, 1956 — September 16, 2005

Mr. David Guy ?Duff? Sears, 49, a resident of the Sowell Mill Pike in Columbia, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at the Transylvania Community Hospital in Brevard, North Carolina from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

A memorial service for Mr. Sears will be conducted Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Columbia with Reverend Mike Dawson officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 12:00 noon and 3: 00 until 6 :00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

The Pontiac, Michigan native was the son of Elizabeth Sia Sears of Davidson, Michigan and the late Rufus Earl Sears and husband of Anna Fick Sears. Mr. Sears was a mechanic for the Saturn Corporation. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved riding motorcycles and playing the guitar and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Brandy Sears, Nicole Sears and Jeffery Sears all of Columbia, TN; four sisters, Susan Deverany, Joann Sears, Moody Sears and Mary Sears all of Michigan; two brothers, William Sears and Michael Sears both of Michigan; three grandsons, Le-Shawn Sears, Hadrian Phillips and Terrance Sears all of Columbia, TN; one grandson-to-be and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Martin Sears.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Gabbard, Ernest Harris, John Hamilton, Norm Tomkevitz, Phil VanSlambrouck, Jody Schwartz, Dan Rutherford, Clifford June, Leroy June, Randy Kilborn, Keith Harrington, Gary Beaty, Dave Attkins and Rob Roy.
