David Staggs

Mr. David Staggs, 75, a resident of Smith Hollow Road near Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside services for Mr. Staggs will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Elmer Lusk officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 10:00a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home.
The Maury County native, was the son of the late James and Abby Hines Staggs. He was the husband of Brenda Lee Henson Staggs of Mt. Pleasant. He was retired from the Maury County Park and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and attended the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Matthew Henson of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Jimmy Darlene Staggs of Lewisburg, TN, and Tom Walker Staggs of Williamsport, TN; four daughters, Margaret Ann Nichols, Susan Jerry Ford , Janet Kenneth Scarberry, and Sandra Louise Jones, all of Columbia, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Gail Smith; a son, Larry Staggs; a sister, Inez Gray; two brothers, Junior Staggs and Alston Staggs.
Active Pallbearers will be James Holcomb, Jeremy Holcomb, Chris Henson, Nathan Henson, Harlan Potts, and James T. Holcomb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Henson, Coty Holcomb, Eric Holcomb, Albert Henson, and Bobby Henson.
