David Sensat, a devoted family man and lover of the great outdoors, passed away on May 25, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on September 12, 1961, in Calcasieu, Louisiana, David was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
David had a passion for life and found joy in the simple pleasures it had to offer. He had an unwavering love for his family, always cherishing the moments spent with them. David adored his wife, Rita Sensat, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.
A proud father, David leaves behind three children, Josh, Jacob, and Joseph Sensat, who were the pride and joy of his life. He watched them grow with immense pride and guided them with wisdom and unconditional love. David's greatest delight came from being a doting grandfather to Hunter, Emilyin, Jackson, Zelda, Bailey, Michael, and David Sensat. He cherished their laughter, showered them with affection, and treasured every moment spent with them.
In the great outdoors, David found solace and contentment. Whether it was casting a line while fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, or the simple satisfaction of cutting the grass, he was at peace amidst nature's beauty. His love for the outdoors was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Moreover, David possessed a culinary talent that was admired by all who had the pleasure of tasting his dishes. His cooking skills were legendary, and he could effortlessly whip up a delicious meal that brought loved ones together around the table. Sharing these meals with family and friends created lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
David will also be remembered as a caring and supportive husband, father, and brother. He is also survived his siblings Andy (Jennifer) Sensat, Raymond (Diane) Sensat, Glenn (Tracy) Sensat, Jody Sensat, Bobby Thornton, Frankie Thornton, Wilford (Laura) Sensat, and Judy Chapman. They shared a bond that transcended time, and their presence in David's life brought him comfort and joy.
David was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Sensat, his mother and stepfather: Zelda and Dee Thornton, his son Jason Wayne Sensat, and his brother Barry Wayne Sensat. Their memories will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved David.

The service for David will be Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee with Randy Kersey officiating. David will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.
