David Scott Taylor

Mr. David Scott Taylor, Sr., age 59, a resident of Brush Creek Road in Fairview, went to heaven on Friday, August 22, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.

Funeral services for Mr. Taylor will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bishop Douglas Graham and Rev. Shirley Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late R.T. and Nora Warren Taylor and husband of Lenda Cates Taylor. He was a carpenter, cabinet maker and a former employee of Parrish Lumber Company. Mr. Taylor liked to piddle around at his son's shop. He spent his life working with wood as a cabinet builder and in all phases of construction. He could make anything and he loved to make people laugh. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Gary Beth Taylor of Columbia, Susan Kennedy and the late Ronnie Kennedy 0f Mt. Pleasant, Donna Troy Lovell of Mt. Pleasant and David Chig Taylor, Jr. of Summertown; his sisters: Gay Welch of Fairview, Wanda Roberts of Franklin and Georgia "Tiny" Vaughn of Nashville; his grandchildren: Rodney Kennedy and Dylan Kennedy, both of Mt. Pleasant, Kodi Lovell, Benji Lovell, Ashley Lovell and Gracelen Lovell, all of Mt. Pleasant, Garrison Taylor of Lawrenceburg, Shannon Holliday, Jake Holliday and Josh Holliday, all of Columbia, Cassie Baker of Culleoka, Chris Taylor, Cory Taylor, Hailee Coleman and Jordan Coleman, all of Summertown; Great Grand Children Devin and Aubrey Dobbins of Columbia. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Golden, Gary Taylor, Rodney Kennedy, David Taylor, Jr., Eric Graham and Daniel Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and the employees of Taylor Construction Company and good friend Mike Hill.
