Mr. David Murray Ditto, 80, resident of the Shenandoah Dr., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Ditto will be conducted Sunday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
He was a native of the Memphis Tennessee area, the son of the late Peter John Ditto and the late Lillie Baker Ditto. He was the husband of Jean Marie Adair Ditto of Columbia. He was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from the Corp of Engineers having served as a foreman. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Deborah Mike Sherman of Columbia and Kathy Ditto of Galatin, TN; one son, David Kathy Murray Ditto Jr. of Paris, TN; four sisters, Frances Daughtry, Dorthy Mosley and Mary Brooks all of Memphis, Carolyn Stovall of Twin Lakes, Miss; two brothers Peter John Ditto and Jack Ditto both of Memphis; mother-in-law Cosier Mae Adair of Columbia. 6 Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Luke Ditto, Russ Sherman, Mike Sherman, Andy Forsythe, Michael Forsythe, Chris Forsythe and Ronnie Ray.
Memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church or to Hospice of the Highland Rim.
