David Mash

April 16, 1956 — March 18, 2025

William David Mash, lovingly known as David, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a kind-hearted and gentle soul who brought warmth and joy to those around him.

David is survived by his sister, Dena Russell, and her husband Randy, as well as his brother, Carl Daniel Mash. He was a beloved uncle to Ryan Russell, Ethan (Sophia) Russell, and Anna Russell. David took great delight in his grandnephew, Walker Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lucius and Betty Mash, and his beloved son, Matthew Mash.

David had a deep love for nature, often spending his days working with plants and flowers or taking long, peaceful walks outdoors. He found solace in the beauty of the natural world. An avid fan of The Voice, David enjoyed relaxing in front of the television, appreciating music of all kinds. His passion for cars, especially the classic Chevy Camaro, was something he enjoyed sharing with others.

David was a man of faith, a believer in Jesus, whose gentle spirit and caring nature reflected his love for others. He found happiness in the sunshine of Florida’s beaches and enjoyed the simple pleasures of growing flowers. His ability to get along with everyone was a testament to his kind and genuine heart.

David’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, warmth, and love will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens on Monday, March 24 at 11 AM, where family and friends are invited to honor and remember him.
