Mr. David John Rehs, 52, a resident of Greenfield Bend Road at Williamsport, Tennessee, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Rehs will be conducted Friday evening, December 3, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 2:00 until service time at the funeral home. Out-of-State services will be handled by the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique, Michgan.
The Detroit, Michgan native was the son of Avonda Hayes Rehs of Gulliver, Michigan and the late Harvey Rehs. David was employed by the Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill, Tennessee for 15 years and Pontiac Motor Division for 5 years. He was an avid sportsman, loving to hunt and fish. Restoring his 1928 hudson was another of his life-long ambitions. He was a charter member of the Gulliver Historical Society and preservationist of the Seul Choix Point Lighthouse in Gulliver, Michigan. He loved Hockey and was a Detroit Red Wings Fan. Being a boy scout, he advanced to Eagle Scout in which he was a recipient of the ?Order of the Arrow and Sea Scout? and the ?God and Country Award?. He was a member of the St. Marks United Church of Christ in Detroit.
He married Debra Jo Johnson on September 24, 1994 and is the Loving father of daughters; Sara Jean Rehs and Lisa Marie Rehs both of Williamsport, TN; two sisters Carol Allen Schultz and Marilyn Glenn Fischer both of Gulliver, MI; in-laws Harold and Nancy Johnson of Grayling, MI; brother-in-law, Jerry Denise Johnson of Lapeer, MI; aunts and uncles, Leon Jackie Hayes of Traverse City, MI; and Nola Hayes of Rapid City, MI. Neices; Susan Tom Hoholik, Sherry Tim Magnusson and Grace Johnson. Nephews; Scott Terri Schultz, Kenneth Jenifer Fischer, Matthew Mandy G. Fischer and Justen Johnson. Great neices and nephews; Justin and Payton Hoholik, Katie Schultz, Keith and Kevin David Fischer, Abigail and Zachary Magnusson.
He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
