It is with great sadness that the family of David Randall “Randy” Curtis announce his passing on Sep 18, 2021. Randy, 62, was a resident of the Barnesville Community in Summertown, TN.
Randy was born on November 10, 1958. He graduated from Summertown High School in May of 1977 and married his high school sweetheart in June of the same year.
Randy will be lovingly missed by his wife of 44 years, Ernestine, as well as sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy, (April), Jerrett (Amber), Cameron, and daughter Heather. Randy will always be known as PawPaw to grandchildren: Case, Audrey, and “Baby Hank”. He is also survived by his father: Dave Curtis; his sister: Debbie Hughes; brother: Mark (Susie), brother: Rodney (Kim), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Nell Curtis, and by his beloved companion, miniature Yorkie, Mindy.
In his younger years, Randy enjoyed drag racing and truck pulls but settled more into farming and hunting later in life. He was often found at his grill cooking for benefits, fundraisers, favors, or just to entertain family and friends. Whether he was having fun singing karaoke to Elvis, singing a romantic love song at a wedding, or praising God with a spiritual hymn, many had the opportunity to be graced with a tune from his strong baritone voice. But of all the things Randy enjoyed, taking care of his wife and playing with his grandchildren were his top priorities.
A time of visitation with the Curtis family will be Wednesday, September 22nd from 4:00 to 8:00 at The Tabernacle Church, 400 Monument Road, Summertown. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 23rd at 2:00, also at the Tabernacle.
