Mr. David Brook Howard,Ret., M/Sgt., USAF, 52, a resident of Mt. Juliet, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at the University Medical Center in Lebanon.

Funeral services for Mr. Howard will be conducted Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with David Shannon and James Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Stand Cemetery at Shady Grove with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Florence, Alabama native was the son of the Helen Lou McIntyre Howard Pollard of Florence, Alabama and the late Robert Stutts Howard. He was the husband of Joyce Shelby Howard of Mt. Juliet. Having a 20 year career in the military, Mr. Howard was a veteran of Desert Storm and a Bronze Star Recipient. He was a member of the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, David Kacy Hamilton of Austin, TX, Lee Hamilton of Atlanta, GA, and Monica L. Howard of Hermitage, TN; two brothers, Stephen Lee Ann Howard of Mobile, AL and Gary Donna Howard of Florence, AL; a sister, Ginger Steve Moody of Florence, AL; two grandchildren, Austen Hamilton and Tyler Hamilton; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Moody, Shane Moody, Todd Howard, Curtis Lovell, Rick Prarie, and Dell Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ.
